Capcom announced Monster Hunter World’s new crossover and players can look forward to playing as Leon S. Kennedy or Claire Redfield in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
As you may already know Monster Hunter has become one of the Capcom’s biggest franchise in this generation following the success of 2017’s Monster Hunter World and as for Resident Evil series, we got the remake of Resident Evil 2 which was a nice revisit to Raccoon City as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Apparently, two of the Capcom’s biggest franchises are crashing into one another and Capcom revealed a new collaboration event between Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 2 Remake which begins today.
In a new press release, Capcom officially announced that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be getting more content and the famous features of Resident Evil franchise will be able via the game’s new event. According to Capcom, in the crossover between Resident Evil 2 Remake and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, it’s possible for Monster Hunter World players who are MR20 or above to acquire materials before completing the crossover event’s main quest. You will get to craft Leon α+ and Claire α+ layered armor sets in addition to three more Raccoon City-themed which will spruce up your beloved weapons in the game. if you’re looking for more, Capcom also confirmed that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne can look forward to new gestures that include shuffling like a zombie and biting like one that is able to cause damage and if that wasn’t already enough, the game lets you decorate your room with many iconic pieces from the Resident Evil franchise such as the item box and the famous typewriter used for saving. Furthermore, Monster Hunter World has a new paid DLC that will turn Handler into Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Mr. X. and he will become a part of this weird crossover, keep in mind that in order to access this, first you will need the have Iceborne expansion.
As of now, Monster Hunter World also has another available crossover event and players can enjoy the crossover between Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn and Monster Hunter World once again. Considering the fact that Horizon Zero Dawn had an icy expansion with The Frozen Wilds, this new crossover is really fitting to the Iceborne expansion of Monster Hunter World. It’s also worth noting that in order to start the main quest of crossover you will need to be at MR24 or above. After that the game will allow players to craft a Light Bowgun based on Aloy’s Stormslinger Prototype, you can also look forward to a pendant designed as Aloy’s Focus in order to attach to your weapons. However, unlike the crossover event between Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 2 Remake, this quest will be only available to PlayStation players and it needs you to own both Monster Hunter World title and its new expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
The Resident Evil 2 Remake crossover event in Monster Hunter World begins November 7th at 4 PM PST. The game is now available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming on January 9th, 2020.
