You can pre-order the Death Stranding PC version on either Steam or Epic Games Store.
Death Stranding is finally out on PlayStation 4. After years of speculations and mysterious trailers, cryptic teasers, and tons of interviews, Kojima Productions’ first game after going independent is on our hands and we can play the game ourselves. But if you want to play the PC version, then you have to wait a little bit longer as the PC version will release in the early summer of 2020.
Despite being months away, Death Stranding PC’s Steam and Epic Games Store pages are live now and you can even pre-order it on any of the said digital storefronts. There doesn’t seem to be any special benefits of pre-ordering the game from any of them just yet but things might change as we get closer to the release date. If you’re planning to get the game on PC you can do so for $60 on Steam or Epic Games Store. It’s also worth noting again that 505 Games will be responsible for publishing the PC version of Death Stranding.
The PlayStation 4 version of Death Stranding was received mostly positively by the critics with some complaining about the heavy focus on walking and delivering cargos and the overall slow pace of the game. Hideo Kojima already warned us that Death Stranding will start slow way before the release and claimed that the game would make us feel lonely. He even addressed the fact that many people are calling the game a walking simulator stating that people had the same reaction to stealth games when he first implemented it in his previous games because it wasn’t a defined and familiar genre back then.
In recent news, Kojima said that he wouldn’t recommend people to play the game offline even though the online aspects are not mandatory. According to him playing offline would make the experience isolated and prevent you from having the useful gifts left by other players.
As a reminder, Death Stranding is available now on PlayStation 4 and is scheduled to launch on PC in the summer of 2020. For a complete summary of pre-release details and trailers make sure to check out our guide and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for the upcoming in-depth news.
